The Manitoba College of Social Workers acknowledges that our office is located on Treaty 1 Territory and that Manitoba is situated on the ancestral lands of the Anishnaabeg, Anishininawuk, Dakota Oyate, Denesuline and Nehethowuk Nations, and the National Homeland of the Red River Métis. We also acknowledge that northern Manitoba includes the ancestral lands of the Inuit.

We honour the enduring relationships Indigenous Peoples have with these lands, waters, and all living beings. We recognize the ongoing impacts of colonization, including Social Work's role in colonial systems, and we are committed to learning from Indigenous knowledge, advancing reconciliation, and fostering meaningful relationships with Indigenous communities.

As social workers, we are committed to promoting justice, upholding Indigenous rights, supporting environmental responsibility, and working toward the well-being of present and future generations.
